Mediation and Adjudication Services

Robert Fenwick Elliott is an experienced mediator and adjudicator in the construction and engineering fields.

Mediation

He was accredited as a mediator by CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) in 1992, and by IAMA (the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia) in 2006.  As at December 2006, he has yet to fail to resolve a construction or engineering dispute in which he has mediated.

Adjudication

He was closely involved in the development of adjudication as a method for resolving construction and engineering disputes in the UK in the 1990s, and was the principal draftsman of the first compliant scheme there (the TeCSA Adjudication Rules).

He has been accredited as an adjudicator by TeCSA, by the CIoB, and by the CIC. Appointments include in respect of the reconstruction of the Chernobyl Power Station in the Ukraine.

Since moving to Australia, he has lectured several times on adjudication topics in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.  He is a convenor of the Adjudication Forum of Australasia.

Croquet Australia

He sits a chairman of Croquet Australia's Selection Appeals Panel and Hearing Tribunal pursuant to the Member Protection Polic; see note.

Availability and Rates

He will, subject to availability and conflict of interest considerations, mediate or adjudicate anywhere in Australia or elsewhere.  His standard rate, as at July 2008, is $3,500 plus GST and expenses per day.
